The plants have the unique distinction of being certified to ISO 9001:2000, in addition to being part of Tyco Electronics multi-site certification.

Operations at these facilities are managed by a team of empowered professionals who practice TQM as a way of life.

The Customer Care Center at Pelhar near Mumbai was eastablished in 2003 with a focused approach to support the complete logistics of T & D and Infocom.

The Operations is backed by the expertise of Tyco Electronics, USA & its various other European facilities.The plant has advanced material and functional testing facilities. It also houses a fully equipped high voltage laboratory capable of testing all products upto 220kV.

Safety and Environment Management is of paramount importance to the company and are accredited to ISO 14001 Standard. Health & Safety measures are monitored and updated to meet approved standards.

Quality of products made in the plants is approved by Tyco Electronics and a great testimony to this facts is that Raychem RPG exports numerous components to Tyco Electronics sites in U.S.A & Europe, and in many cases, they are the only source worldwide for those components.

EOU Plant

On 19th December 2006. Mr.Harsh Goenka, Chairman, RPG Group, and Mr.Steve O"Neil, Vice-President, Tyco Electronics, inaugurated Raychem Rpg's EOU (Export Oriented Unit) Plant at Vasai.

The production capacity of EOU is 2 million pieces per year, which is three times that of the old plant. The shop floor stores and utilities extend over an area of 35,300 square feet. The EOU has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, in which all the machines have been Designed observing the ergonomics and TPM approach.

Raychem RPG has undertaken this challenging project to manufacture and source from India various moulded products used in cable jointing kits. After the successful completion of this project, two hundred and twenty-six products of forty-six families will be sourced from India.

With this, Raychem RPG will cross a significant milestone in its manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, and cost competitiveness.

As another supply chain initiative, EOU will put into practice the Vendor Managed Inventory concept, whereby Raychem RPG will set up and run a warehouse in Rotterdam. Besides Reducing the lead-time, this system will enable a customer to pick up products as and when required.

Tyco Electronics appreciates the quality of Raychem RPG Products, and describes projects Vijay as "a great success". Tyco Electronics has expressed a willingness to source more products from Raychem RPG.

Domestic Gas Meters

Raychem RPG's manufacturing set up of G1.6 Domestic Gas Meters in Chakan caters to domestic and international markets. Currently it is the only plant in India to manufacture Domestic Gas Meters. The Chakan facilities are spread over 11.5 acres of land with sufficient space for expansion. The commerical production of G1.6 Steel Case Meters has commences. By end of this calendar year, the company has plans to offer G1.6 Aluminium Case Meters. The plant has the capacity to manufacture 1,50,000 domestic gas meters per annum.
